SPOOKWARE follows some cute skeletons on a road trip across the land of the dead, completing little microgames along the way.
Lefti, Midi, and Righti realized that they wasted their lives watching horror movies (which is impossible), but have decided to make up for lost time in the afterlife with a road trip. You get to join along with this adorable bony pals as you work through the strange circumstances that happen to them along the way. Road trips already tend to breed odd trouble, but when you’re a couple of dead friends, somehow things get even sillier along the way. It’s not often you solve murders and start school bands while out driving.
You’ll help the gang through challenging situations by playing horror-themed microgames. These have you carry out a variety of different actions and tasks, from solving puzzles to playing music to chopping off limbs. The game’s aren’t just nonsense, either, as they all tie into the game’s extensive, wacky plot. As I said, their story starts off strange and will only get stranger, with games alongside each activity to ramp up the fun and macabre atmosphere.
SPOOKWARE is delightful microgame fun, but with a horror slant that should delight lovers of spooky, scary things. The kinds of folks who hopefully won’t find themselves regretting a life spent watching and playing horror stuff. Although an afterlife filled with this kind of fun might make it worth it.
The first chapter of SPOOKWARE is available now on Steam.
