The protagonist of Stone Story RPG will fight, explore, and pick up loot all on their own. It’s just up to you to ensure (sometimes quickly) that they’ve always got the right tools for the job.
The world is covered in darkness, with cults and monstrosities having overtaken everything. A single stone holds the power to undo it all and bring peace, but unfortunately, your only chance of snagging it isn’t very concerned with your advice on how to do it. They’re going to rush into danger, beat up whatever they find, and snag whatever goodies they find on the way no matter what you say. It’s just up to you to make sure they’re ready for the dangers they find.
What can you do when an AI is in charge of most of the hero’s activities? You can help them out by using potions and abilities with the right timing, doing better damage or just keeping your hero alive. You can also change out the hero’s items when you need to, which can help if combat takes a bad turn or if a boss feels like switching up their pattern. Just because the hero is doing most of the work doesn’t mean you can just sit idly by.
Stone Story RPG doesn’t make those item acquisitions too easy, either. While your hero is doing all the looting, you can craft better items by fusing certain things together, crafting better or more varied tools for the potential dangers ahead. If you do well, perhaps you’ll be able to find the secrets hidden throughout the world (with a little prodding) and maybe bring back some hope. Although you’ll only be credited with assisting on this journey.
Stone Story RPG is available now on Steam.
