Fighting game Super Combat Fighter looks to capture the spirit of 90’s Mortal Kombat today, using digitized fighters, a rainbow of ninja, and some explosive, bloody, absolutely absurd deaths.
Super Combat Fighter is built around the cheesy, over-the-top nature of many digitized fighters of the 90’s, offering silly fatalities (is that an extra head in there?), bizarre locations, oddball ways to die in said locations, and other lighthearted, yet ruthless secrets hidden within it. Not only this, but it looks to create a fighting experience that any player can just pick up and play around with while still having fun, while also containing a depth of movesets and combo possibilities that will make it more interesting for technical players. Accessibility is important if you want to punch someone until they explode, right?
The developers are looking to offer seven fighters, ten arenas, and four fighting modes, as well as an array of mods that change the game in even sillier ways. Big head mode is one thing, but what about just having giant-sized fighters duke it out? Super Combat Fighter rarely takes itself seriously, nor will it post-launch, as the developers state they will continue to add new content after it is released.
Those with a taste for ridiculousness in their fighters, or who miss that particular goofy hyper-violence of 90’s fighters may want to give Super Combat Fighter a look.
Super Combat Fighter is currently raising development funding on Kickstarter.
