The 13th Doll takes players back to the FMV terrors of The 7th Guest, forcing the protagonist of the original game back to the mansion that offered so much suffering to him.
Tad faced nasty spirits, ghosts, and murderous toys the first time he snuck into the mansion of evil toymaker Henry Stauf, but he managed to overcome the sinister tinkerer in the end. Not without a cost, as seeing all of those deaths and monstrosities took a large mental toll on him. Ten years later, and Tad’s new doctor, Richmond (who’s mostly bewildered by Tad’s story), has decided to take him back to the source of his mental anguish to help him overcome it. Which goes about as well as one might imagine.
You can help Tad overcome his troubles yet again in this fan-made (but licensed) journey back to the world of The 7th Guest. To do this, you’ll have to endure some spooky encounters, work your way through many different logic puzzles, and work through the various story moments with its cast. You’ll also be able to more thoroughly explore the Stauf Mansion than was possible in the previous games, in case you wanted to really get to know this gloomy place.
The 13th Doll contains that surreal mixture of cheesiness and terror that the original game had, as well as some devious puzzles with gruesome stakes to keep you invested. Hopefully Tad gets a better doctor if you can get him out alive again, though.
The 13th Doll is available now on GOG and Steam.
