I’m sure Ali, protagonist of The Big Con, could have SOME fun at band camp, but committing crimes on a cross-country road trip sounds better.
You’re not JUST ditching band camp, either. Your family’s video store is in trouble with some loan sharks who are going to shut it down, so you kind of have more important problems to deal with. What’s a high schooler going to do about that, though? Get some minimum wage job? Won’t get enough money there. So, the only thing you can do is turn to crimes. Funny ones, but still crimes. If you can pickpocket, dupe, and swindle enough folks throughout your travels, you stand a chance of saving the day. And making a lot of people pretty annoyed.
HOW you go about your crime spree is entirely up to you. If you think you can fleece enough people through pickpocketing, you’re free to do just that. If you’re finding that not enough people carry big stacks of cash on them, you can start doing some breaking and entering to see what you can snag. You’re also able to sweet talk and swindle your way to the funds you need. Thankfully, you’ve got a seasoned grifter coaching you on what to do. Maybe you’ll want to only target certain people who you feel deserve to get ripped off, too. It’s all your choice.
The Big Con may focus on committing crimes, but its playful nature keeps things light and fun (especially if you just target deserving jerks). A far more delightful crime simulation than many other criminal games I’ve played.
The Big Con is available now on the Microsoft Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
