You might not think that gardening skills would make you good at climbing sheer towers, but The Gardener and the Wild Vines would prove you wrong.
I have no idea how hard our Gardener hero is cutting into these flowers and leaves on vines, but it’s definitely hard enough to propel him high into the air with every cut. When your prince boyfriend is trapped at the top of the tower, though, you do what you have to do to get up there, I guess. The hard part is just that you can’t really predict where the plants are going to grow next, as a new vine grows out (procedurally) every time you cut a flower. You’re never entirely sure where your next propulsion flower is going to be, so you need to be ready to react if you’re going to reach that boyfriend of yours.
While your routes up the tower will change each time, the challenges awaiting you have been hand-crafted to keep you from snuggling up to your love easily. Expect many new difficulties along your route, but fortunately, there’s lots of lovely towers to see during your journey. I mean, you may have lots of time to enjoy the look of these buildings as you’re tumbling down them after another failed jump. Especially if you’re working towards the game’s more challenging modes.
The Gardener and the Wild Vines provides hand-crafted challenges with just a hint of the unpredictability of procedural generation, offering many tense climbs. Hopefully your love can carry you through.
The Gardener and the Wild Vines will be made available today on Steam.
