Time on Frog Island sees you shipwrecked on a world full of frogs, many of whom need you and your little plant buddy to help them in some way.
This is a charming slice of life adventure game that I am sure to spend far too much time playing once it’s out! This game has you shipwrecked on an island full of frog creatures who all communicate through little pictures that appear above their head.
Part puzzle game, part adventure game, you will need to rebuild your ship, find a way to keep yourself warm and well rested, and help the little frogs around that will then assist you. There are a few different frogs right when you land who do not see you as a strange creature that they have never seen before, so they get right into asking you for things in return for what you want. Guess you and your best friend plant will need to get to work.
You need to get your plant back, keep your plant by you when you sleep, and make sure your plant is secure in your boat when you are off wandering. This little relationship with a pet plant is the most adorable thing, and really brings together the entire feel of the game itself.
I got the chance to play a bit of Time on Frog Island at The Mix at GDC, which really captured my attention. The puzzles themselves, due to the fact that they are only told through little picture bubbles, are interesting, and bring a lot of challenge into the game. But on the other hand, nothing rushes you forward in these challenges, and the game can be played at your own pace. I look forward to further exploring this world of frogs and hopefully help them in their adventures, too.
Time on Frog Island is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
