Iron Meat offers several weapons to use in its Contra-inspired stages, blasting foes with an array of explosives, lasers, and machine guns.
Turrets and soldiers just can’t seem to handle a single determined warrior (or cyborg?), even if they can only take a single hit before going down. Like the run n’ gun games of yesteryear, you’ll be rushing from left to right, using an array of guns to blast entrenched foes, hidden canons, and a bunch of different odd bosses. Why attach a buzz saw to the front of a tank? Because Video Games, that’s why.
Iron Meat‘s arsenal gives you a few different ways to take out enemies. You can simply hose them down with bullets with the machine gun, cover the screen with shots with the world-clearing scattering shot (it’s just a nonstop burst of blasts), a laser if you like firing out a stream of lethal beams, or you can simply pepper foes with rapid-fire explosives. Which is pretty useful when you’re fighting a hybrid mack truck and giant scorpion.
Iron Meat isn’t shy about its inspirations, but is looking like it will offer some tense shooting against a wild gang of bizarre foes.
Iron Meat is currently in development, but you can download a demo on Itch.io.
