Staying alive amid freezing storms and bear attacks is challenging enough on its own, but with traitors aiming to ruin everything in Project Winter, you’ll have to be wary of your fellow survivors as well.
Project Winter takes eight players out into the frozen wilderness where they’ll need to gather resources, complete tasks, and work together if they’re to escape the killing cold. Working together is vital to pulling this off, as players make easy targets if they’re alone, and the tasks they need to carry out are too much for one person to take care of.
With teamwork being so important, communication is key. Proximity voice chat and radios make this a little easier to pull off, as do emotes and texting devices. You need to keep in contact with the other players should danger arise, and also to keep everyone on-task.
This would normally be hard enough, but traitors within the party add more danger. These traitors need to sabotage and kill the other party members, but are few in number. They’ll need to use cunning and wait for the right opportunities if they’re to ruin the players’ plans. Still, just by existing, they sow mistrust in the group, making survival even more difficult than it already was.
Project Winter is available now on Steam Early Access.
Wow. Traitors within a party? Although I’m used to experiencing this in Left4Dead when my friends are trolling me, I definitely love this idea being implemented on Multiplayer Social Survival Games. Project Winter is an interesting game. It reminds me of Don’t Starve Together but of course with a twist.
