Tree Trunk Brook is stitched together from a variety of trail photographs, letting you get a taste of some real hikes as you explore and find new pals.
I don’t know about the weather where you are, but it is getting bone-chilling cold out now. The kind of cold that makes you ache and want to do anything but go outside. Except quarantine has me so sick of being indoors that I NEED to get outside at least a little bit. This game is a welcome journey for someone who’s caught in the middle of those two issues, having stitched together some soothing hikes out of real world places. It’s like I’m out on a walk, but without all of the miserable freezing temperatures.
We’re still doing our best to maintain social distancing in the game world, too, as it’s also taking place during a pandemic. Still, you can say hi to some of the friendly other hikers you meet without worrying if anyone can smell your morning breath (thanks, masks!), which is kind of nice. Some of them have lost stuff that you can help them find, if you’re feeling energetic on your walk. Never hurts to be a good friend, right? When you’re not busy with pals, you can also snap some pictures of nature’s splendor for yourself. What’s a good hike without some nice pictures?
Tree Trunk Brook is a lovely vision of forest hiking without getting all chilly and having to spend ten minutes thawing your hands in the sink. Which suits me JUST FINE.
Tree Trunk Brook is available now on itch.io, Armor Games, and Steam.
