Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~ sees you as the last human capable of making a zombie cure. Luckily, a crew of half-zombie gals intend to protect you long enough that you can make lots of it.
Reggie has a cure to the zombie plague that his father created. Trouble is, a single dose isn’t much help to anyone. It needs to be mass-produced, and that means Reggie has to live long enough to see that happen AND somehow find a facility to do so without being killed along the way. Thankfully, he has a friend, Pearl, who’s been afflicted but managed to retain her human heart, gaining the benefits of both worlds. She’s also got a few friends willing to help, so you’ll have a crew of half-zombie women able to protect you on your journey. So long as you’re willing to lug around all of the stuff they find on the journey.
The game will have you combing through dungeons filled with bizarre enemies (apparently zombies are only part of the problem, what with these smoking crows and odd egg people), using fancy abilities to take advantage of weaknesses. Just keep an eye on your stuff, as it tends to break with overuse and you have a long trip ahead. Not that every moment is spent on exploring and combat, as the game features an extensive story and potential relationships that you can form with your half-zombie team. You may even find special secret moments with the party if you bring certain characters into specific dungeons. These interactions all affect your ending, so your personal life just might be more important than your dungeon-exploring one.
Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~ looks to offer a varied story (that we’ve been watching come together for some time), as well as some engaging combat with monsters designed to make you crack up. Wouldn’t it be nice to actually heal a zombie plague for a change, too?
Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~ is available now on the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
