The developers are watching you play through Unsettling events in the depths of hell, adjusting the game to keep things spooky. Except they have a tendency to make things goofy instead.
NOTE: Thanks to Free Game Planet for discovering this title!
You’re playing a horror game as its developers tweak it on the fly, working to keep you paralyzed with fear. The lead developer will keep an eye on what you do, and the subtitle guy provides some written words for you to read. They’re supposed to observe your journey to find your missing roommate in the Nether Realm, providing the scares as you do so, except they don’t seem entirely prepared for your actions along the way.
Instead of making you feel fear, Unsettling events in the depths of hell is better at making you laugh, providing several absurd moments of bugs, broken features, missing items, and harmless hauntings. Skeletons might seem menacing, but things never quite come together properly to frighten you. More often, you’re watching as the developer scrambles to put everything in place to deal with your decisions and actions.
Unsettling events in the depths of hell offers many silly moments that are far from a typical horror experience. More like The Stanley Parable but with the undead, the game aims to add a little laughter to your Halloween festivities. Just make sure you that you don’t forget your poor old roommate within this maze. He might be in actual danger if these monsters can ever get themselves together.
Unsettling events in the depths of hell is available now on itch.io and IndieDB.
