When you’re scrounging for materials to fight and survive in space, you’ll want to know what you’re getting into, especially in the ruthless world of shooter/space exploration game Void Bastards.
Void Bastards offers you the freedom to explore the lethal Sargasso Nebula, tackling the abandoned ships, pirate fleets, void whales, and other cosmic troubles as you see fit. You need food, fuel, and tools to make equipment and guns, but it’s your call on how you get those things for your crew of prisoners.
Busted ships seem like a good place to find gear, but they’re also good places to find security systems, infected crews, and other troublemakers. If you get yourself in too much trouble, there’s always another prisoner to take their place, but you need to make it out alive to get supplies. As such, Void Bastards offers you maps to look at to plan your route in and out so you can hopefully escape with some gear. However, many surprises will show up as you explore, so get ready to change your plans on the fly.
Offering a variety of oddball weapons and cunning alien foes, Void Bastards looks to give you ruthless shooter play on top of its planning, crafting, and decision-making in space. Adding a sharp art style onto that makes this game an all-the-more appealing release for early 2019. Plus, robo kitties are cute.
