Winkeltje looks to give you the freedom to create your own shop and run it however you like. You can customize the layout and size of your shop to create more room for product, and you can also decorate it however you like as well. People do prefer to come to a nicer shop, and you can always use more shelving to store goods for folks to look at.
Beyond setting the place up, you also have to stock it with goods. You could just buy stuff from traders and work to sell it at a profit, but you can also craft your own goods with stuff you find, creating things that will steadily get better than what you can buy. You can also sell crops you grow yourself, although you have to take care of your plants or else they might wither up. No one wants to buy your moldy produce, after all.
On top of setting up shop and choosing/creating goods, you’re also in charge of dealing with the customers that come to your shop. They’ll all have something specific in mind, and if you have nothing like it, they’ll leave unhappy. It’s up to you to watch what people want and work to keep it in stock.
