Keep getting shot in the belly? Wrought Flesh will let you find a new set of intestines to straighten yourself out and get back to the fight.
You’ve come to this desert world to find and kill someone. Seems like fairly vague instructions, but given that this is an FPS, killing things kind of comes with the territory. So, you’ll need to grab an array of firearms and blast your way through a handful of areas to find your target. You’re going to want to be light on your feet as you do it, as this game has been designed with speed in mind. Especially when you fight the bosses. These things will crush you flat in a hurry if you stay still for too long.
Death may come quickly, but you have some tools to help yourself. You’re a Gajeshian Cultist in this game. That means you’ve been cobbled together using the body parts of long-dead saints. Seems like that saint part is an important detail, but apparently, once you’ve been assembled, you can repair and adjust your organs as you see fit. As such, you can snag organs from dead creatures you find while you’re looking for your target, increasing health, stamina, and healing in a variety of ways. Some of these organs have elemental properties as well, so you can get some neat little bonuses by equipping the right lungs. However, you only have so much room in your torso for all of these parts, so you’ll need to maximize the space in your rib cage.
Wrought Flesh is a fast, challenging FPS with an unsettling means of improving your character, adding a hint of horror to things. Can’t say I ever expected to have to organize organs in my rib cage to improve my character in a game.
Wrought Flesh is available now on itch.io and Steam.
