Yurivania: Uhaul of the Night follows a gorgon as she tries to make her haunted home a bit more accommodating for her plantgirl girlfriend to move into.
Alarune has been looking to move out of her dingy dungeon for a bit, but doesn’t have any place in mind. Stheno, her gorgon girlfriend, is thinking of asking her to move in with her. They’ve been dating for two hundred years, after all, so maybe it’s time? A plantgirl needs a lot of things to stay healthy, though, so Stheno needs to enlist the help of the other kind monsters in the castle so that she can make the proper changes to her place.
You’re free to hop around the castle to find the monster folks who can help you out with items and directions, steadily collecting items and opening up new routes to continue exploring. As you wander, you might find a couple of windy obstacles (and one monster-hunting human creep) who’ll get in your way, but your love is just too darn strong to be beaten for long. You just can’t stand to see this adorable couple apart, so you’ll quickly finding yourself poring over every inch of the castle to help them come together. If you keep checking your map and talking to the cheery creatures, you’ll find your way soon enough.
Yurivania: Uhaul of the Night is a cute story of the excitement that comes with the idea of sharing your living space with someone you love, and a touching vision of monsters spending eternity with one another. I now feel profoundly guilty for all of those vampire-whipping games I’ve played over the years.
Yurivania: Uhaul of the Night is playable now on itch.io.
