I mean, you COULD just smash enemies with weapons or stuff in the environments if you want to, but isn’t it more fun to make a new friend by talking out your issues?
Black Crystals introduces us to Starsio, a talented street performer. His singing was so great that he got…kidnapped and sold on the black market to an entertainment establishment called Paprika. It’s a depressing fate for the singer, but when a strange power to control fireflies awakens in him, he takes it as a sign that it’s time to escape from this place. And bring his pal Arthur with him.
Naturally, your employers are none too happy about this, and mean to stop you from escaping. Plus some regular creatures and folks are bumming around that mean to give you a hard time, too. You could smack these folks around, as they are being jerks by trying to keep you here. You can even use stuff that’s lying around in each fight to give yourself a little added firepower. Or connect with your pals for special attacks. Or attune to crystals for even more neat abilities.
If you’re not keen on pushing an endless cycle of violence, you could also try to talk things over with your enemies. You’re not exactly being unfair by wanting your freedom, here. Also, your party is affected by your decisions throughout the game, which alters their effectiveness, actions, and dialogue, so taking a more peaceful route might help you make healthier connections with your friends.
Still, I think at least a couple of these foes could use a good smack for how they treated Starsio. But maybe you feel a bit more peaceful than I.
