First, there was the AI robots taking our jobs and now it’s the cats! In Cat Secretary, you have a new job at an office. I’m not 100 percent sure what the office actually does, but people are talking business and you can’t really read anyway. Your job is actually to be trained by an AI robot and then go around doing tasks that help with office moral.
You’ll be filling coffee pots, doing small mini-game related tasks like organising files, and otherwise trying to make the human’s lives more manageable while they work. The game feels quite simple in concept, but there is a bit of story around changing the minds of those that are upset with their current jobs and helping your AI friend who’s actually locked out of a lot of places despite working for the company.

The general gameplay in Cat Secretary is task based, going around the office to do these little jobs that you have been assigned, which will help with the moral of the people. There is a bit of a stealth element to the game, where you are actually avoiding some of the larger robots to help people or smaller robots – otherwise you will get in trouble for being out of your zone!

It is an interesting take on a stealth game, with a lot of funny and even cozy moments within it. I felt at home being a cat, playing little mini-games and ensuring that I was providing something helpful to the humans and maybe not so helpful to the AI bots that had taken over.
There’s drama, there are threats, there is an AI takeover, and there are routers to fix and vending machines to man-handle. I got the chance to play a demo of Cat Secretary at Gamescom, but you can wishlist the full game on Steam.
