Fhtagn! – Tales of the Creeping Madness will have you and some cultist buddies working to summon your favorite Ancient Horror so you can bring about the end of the world.
For a cultist, you don’t seem to know a whole lot about summoning dangerous cosmic beings, though. Fhtagn! – Tales of the Creeping Madness offers a variety of creatures the players can try to summon, but to do the rituals to call them, you’ll need to have the right stats for that horror. The thing is, you don’t know what those stats are, and can only find them through trial and error as you go through unsettling(ly silly) Lovecraftian events to grow your character.
Fhtagn! – Tales of the Creeping Madness lets up to four players work to call up their best cosmic horror, but you’re not necessarily all working together to make things happen. There are ways the players can betray one another, getting all the glory (or just keeping yourself from being devoured) based on how you choose to play through the text-based adventures.
Players who want even more horrifying events beyond the extensive randomized occurrences already in the game can work to create their own stories to be brought into Fhtagn! – Tales of the Creeping Madness. The developers have you covered with more tales if that level of work is not of interest, adding a new cult, new Ancient Horror, and a new game mode where you may find yourself on the sacrificial altar with DLC that became available today.
Fhtagn! – Tales of the Creeping Madness is available for $9.99 on Steam.
