Troublemakers from another world are out to cause mischief in your town, but as a street skating star, you have the speed and agility needed to slow them down. And take some selfies along the way.
Neon Tail follows an SFS Pro Star who’s been granted some handy powers by cosmic beings. Still, it’s your rollerblading abilities that will be the biggest help in dealing with otherworldly jerks. You can grind rails high above the city, hurtle through jumps and loops, and use momentum to get yourself over any obstacle in creative ways. And do a few tricks in the air as you do it. Why stop dangers if you can’t make yourself look good doing it?
While you;re playing a skating star, your own skills will take some time to grow. Your character builds momentum realistically, meaning you’ll have to get used to gaining speed through rushing through the environments in smart ways. You’ll also have to learn how to stop by turning, using twists and shifts in direction of assist you in changing speeds. It all comes together in a lovely, fluid way (which we found out at BitSummit) once you get the hang of it, though.
As you develop your feel for rollerblading, you can also pick up some odd jobs to make some money, accessorize yourself with the funds you make, and stop to take pictures of yourself around town. There’s also plenty of folks to meet, giving you some good reasons to keep your town safe. Still, it’s that smooth rollerblading play that makes Neon Tail so compelling. It’s just a delight to move around this place, whether you’re saving it from danger or not.
Neon Tail is available now on Steam Early Access.
